Okay, so this may not be the best series to watch with a headache. The dialogue is hard enough as it is, and that headache didn’t make things better. Still, at least I’m glad that Saiunkoku Monogatari seems to be back again. I’m really starting to get impatient with this series. I want to see Ryuuki develop already! I know it’s close, but it had already been close two freaking months ago. With all the hiatuses from this series, I’d really wish that this series would hurry up and get on with it.

This episode basically introduces the next mini-arc. Something seems to be going on in the Ran-province, and Shuurei manages to get permission from Ki Kouki to travel there and check it out. It seems to involve a guy named Son Chouchou, whose role I unfortunately couldn’t pick up. We also see more of the villain for this arc, who seems to have teamed up with the suspicious-looking noble whose name I can’t remember at the time.

Interestingly enough, Ryuuki too will be heading to te Ran-province, along with Shouka. I’m really glad that this guy finally gets some attention again. He was one of my favourite characters whenever he played a major role, so I’ve been a bit disappointed that he’s had so little attention for the past half year.

Now that I think about it, does anyone know how long the second season will last? AniDB says that it’ll end with episode 39, but I just don’t trust that website as an official source. And there is no way that this series will be resolved in six episodes. Of course, that could mean that there’s a third season, waiting to air in the upcoming spring-season. That would be awesome, though I really hope that the building-up of the past months will be worth it.

it would end in 6 episodes, the season 2 set, perhaps? with its fandom, i don’t think they would end it while the novels are on-going.

i’d bet they’d have another season to end this series. just like what they are doing with kyou kara maoh, final season only coming out this year, and heck, look at initial d. the 5th stage is still nowhere near midway in the mangas. it’s been what? 2 years? they are expecting the 5th stage to come out in 2 years’ time. maybe, if the 3rd season of saimono doesn’t come out immediately, i guess it would later on… at least, i hope it would.

    :P

oh please, the goodie goodie Ran-Arc has just begun, and they’re ending it already? it’s just no way that they’re gonne cut that out mid-way. either they’re gonna end before they arrive at the Ran city, or before the Arc began to end the season. i think they’re gonna continue with a 3rd season, because they would be stupid if they don’t.

If Aidan was truly trying to be insulting he’d have said Rahxephon was better than Eva. And we all know that’d be just cruel, wrong and unusual! =D

@Kaiser: there is nothing untouchable, and certainly no work that is without some faults. This ‘off-limits’ mentality is a poison that stifles productive debates and mutes consenting opinions. But criticism has to be fair and backed up by educated analysis. A well-rounded critique mentions the good with the bad, just to show that the author knows the full extent of what they’re talking about.

Going by Madoka threads on here though, I do find that in the case of one former user, the triggering of Madoka fans takes a higher level than triggering an Eva one lol

Bam, “I try to stand for what’s right” lol this is an anime chat not a political rally. Like I said before, it’s not that deep and i’m sure it’s just Aidan’s sense of humor. You’re acting as this is a traumatizing personal attack on your beliefs…..we are talking about anime, remember that. Maybe I’m not passionate enough compared to everyone here lol

If anything in short we can sum up Eva’s importance as “It kicked the mech genre in the arse which up until then had been simple fight of the week entertainment or in gundams case war drama”

It becomes difficult to criticize a seemingly untouchable show/series, especially if you find yourself saying you dislike many of them, no matter how hard you try someone will ALWAYS take it as contrarianism.

@K-off: that’s great m8, better for the head, health and your pocket. I’m in a similar drug retirement, aside from the ganja, which I really do need. What did you get out of Kitty? I’m not a big fan, but I usually did it on benders with a bunch of other stuff, so it was never too pleasant.

If anything I was able to enjoy blood c’s gorefest moments but they never made up for the slow build parts and the twist just made me want to punch the screen.
K-on just follows the fate of all 4-koma adaptations, you quickly get your fill of it and it runs its course.

@mamamoo: what you see now on here is a few years of me nailing that in, otherwise the jaded opinion a few years back was that “it’s just overrated trash, and Anno is nothing but a hack”. People may forget, but I remember those circlejerking days of hipsterism. I try to stand for what’s right, I don’t care about popularity. But I admit, I take it too far sometimes.

When I heard about this arc being hard to watch I readied myself for a number of things. I was prepared to see Subaru die gruesomely, to see him tortured and broken. However while I was ready to see him get destroyed by others; I didn’t expect him to be the architect of his own […]

Kiznaiver Review – 60/100

Kiznaiver is a very different faire from Studio Triggers other works in that it takes a more serious tone and has a writer who tends to go more for the melodramatic. This is a tale about a group of very different people gathered together and have their pain linked to one another. In an effort […]

Kiznaiver -12

This was certainly pure narrative confusion at it’s zenith and in that regard I don’t mean that the events depicted were hard to understand but rather a general confusion on what mood it wants to go out on. In this episode we had comedic, drama and climatic showdown all hastily weaved together to try and […]

Bungou Stray Dogs – 12 (end)

And we get to the end of Bungou Stray Dogs, but this last episode doesn’t offer any conclusive ending, instead feel more like a set up episode for the next season. This last episode functions like a typically Bungou Stray Dogs’ episode; there are many good things to say about it, mainly the technical triumphs […]

Joker Game Review – 50/100

When experiencing the wave of new anime each season it can get rather tiresome to notice all the teenagers fighting supernatural forces while gathering a harem through seer luck or similarly tired concepts. So when something like Joker game comes along and takes a road less traveled with it’s story, naturally I am well on […]

Joker Game – 12

Upon finishing yet another rather uneventful episode of Joker Game, I began to wonder just what this series had planned for its finale. “How best to top off a rather mediocre series such as this?” I thought to myself. However when looking over general consensus over the episode I found out that I seen the […]

Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World – 12

This looks to be the weakest episode of Re:Zero to date which does seem to be a trend when it comes to the arcs of the series. When looking over these twelve episodes I have come to find that the weakest episodes of the series are the first episode of an arc which does make […]

I really should be getting Grand Kingdom or waiting for Mirage Sessions. Oh my.
