Okay, so with this episode it’s clear: Hana-Saku Iroha is building up to a love polygon: we have this new girl who likes Kou, while Ohana and Kou still don’t know whether they actually like each other, and while Tohru is likely to start hitting on Ohana anytime soon now, with Minko still having her crush on Tohru. The only one who misses at this point is Nako and the entire picture will be complete.

I’m not the biggest fan of love polygons, as they tend to be really annoying, but at the very least this series is aware of that and therefore is building up things carefully. Plus, if the rest of the episodes will be as interesting as this past arc, then it’ll still be a very interesting series.

It’s a nice and stressful episode for Ohana, and I liked how this past arc created its drama, even though it was a collection of coincidences strangely happening all at the same time. This episode however took that idea and rolled with it, resulting in quite a bit of character development and new sides of characters that we hadn’t seen before. Overall, these were the best episodes of Hana-Saku Iroha since the first two episodes.
Rating: ** (Excellent)

A new girl who likes Kou? Where did that come from? The only new girl I know is the one at the place where Kou works at. Or is that who you’re talking about?

You’re jumping to conclusions too soon. The new character barely got 15 seconds of screen time, and I don’t get it how you’re able to tell she likes Kou?
Overall,a pretty much good episode.I enjoy watching this show!

It’s not whether the new girl likes Kou or not right now. It’s inevitable that she’ll have a role to play.

    ^At the above.

Even though we don’t know if she likes Ko, it is a possibility. Plus, it’d help shake up the show some more because at the moment, Ko is hopelessly chasing Ohana. After all, she doesn’t see him in a romantic light.

I agree, especially about the coworker, although it is likely the producers meant for us to get that impression. However, while it’s possible that Tohru could become attracted to Ohana, I get the feeling that, at the moment at least, he doesn’t see either Ohana or Minko as potential love interests because of their age gap. Tohru is in his mid-twenties, right? While Ohana and Minko are 16? He does seem to notice Ohana but whether it becomes more than just respect and friendship remains to be seen. Weird moments of fanservice aside, this show gives me a retro conservative vibe so I’m betting on a Ohana-Kou pairing, with Tohru having a long-time girlfriend suddenly show up from out of the blue, although they could still pull a Honey Clover on us.

  6. South says:

I hope the coworker won’t be involved. It’s like not a need at all.

    ^^^

heck, we need her name and age, just incase she’s (literally) his boss (or something similar)

    *glance @ anime moms…*

“Tohru having a long-time girlfriend suddenly show up from out of the blue”
…could be the identity of the coworker lol

I’m glad I jumped off the kiznaiver ship when I did honestly. I just saw nothing going for it after 4 episodes.

Space patrol Luluco is better than it has any right being. Where Kiznaiver failed, Luluco succeeded. Plus on that last announcement of the next trigger anime…so…much…yes!

I’ll freely admit that my bias’s will make me actively just avoid something entirely or have me set with a pre-opinion at times, but at others I’m always willing to give something I’ll probably not like a chance to see if it’ll surprise me.

@Helghast: Thats always the best way to do when looking for other people’s opinion on a fictional work. Watching just one or two people’s opinions becomes sort of a echo chamber.

I’m more of pointing out that I don’t see a bias being a reason to avoid watching someone’s work rather than trying to counter whether guy is too biased or not since I don’t really care either way.

@AidanAK47: Thats because I’m not trying to “counter your point” :D I have watched guy’s series on why Asterisk War sucks and not much of anything else because none of episode titles grabbed me.

That’s why I watch other Youtubers other than just Digibro and then come to my own conclusions afterwards. I think that’s the best way to go about judging anime. I did like his series on the Asterisk War on going into the details on why it sucks so hard and comparing it to Chivalry of a Failed Knight.

I ain’t denying that people have bias. Just that stating that doesn’t really counter y point that Digibro has too much bias and he doesn’t see it.

Joker Game Review – 50/100

When experiencing the wave of new anime each season it can get rather tiresome to notice all the teenagers fighting supernatural forces while gathering a harem through seer luck or similarly tired concepts. Mayoiga Review – 78/100

Mayoiga has to be one of the most misunderstood shows in recent years. On a surface, the premise alone has a lot of potential. Joker Game – 12

Upon finishing yet another rather uneventful episode of Joker Game, I began to wonder just what this series had planned for its finale. “How best to top off a rather mediocre series such as this?” I thought to myself. However when looking over general consensus over the episode I found out that I seen the […]

Mayoiga – 12 (end)

Mayoiga pretty much wraps up its story this week and for the series that focus much about anti-climaxes and inconsistency, this ending neatly conclude all of its main loose end. In the final twist of Mayoiga, it turns out that Koharun is God’s daughter (now I understand the inclusion of him in Mayoiga) and all […]

Joker Game – 11

Sometimes I wonder if Joker Game is intentionally trying to kill my sense of disbelief as it really does pull out some mind numbingly dumb things from time to time.
