So with this we’ve gotten all of the endings of the past season. And it’s pretty weird indeed. At the very least, I’ve got to praise the creators for delivering a solid and climactic ending. This episde was fun, and also had a ton of character development. It was a bit cheesy when Yuno stabbed herself, but heck: she’s crazy, and this episode had far bigger question-marks.

First of all, I’m not sure whether I missed this or not, but the way in which Eleventh changed everyone’s future, was an explanation given of why he knew now that he Mirai Nikki project would fail? There’s also the question of Murmur’s intentions: was it ever revealed what she wanted anyway? I mean, she had captured the Murmur of the world anyway and eventually would have continued to e the assistant of the new God.

The strangest part however, was the sequel hook. I mean, I knew beforehand that Mirai Nikki isn’t going to end here and that some sort of sequel got announced at the end of this episode. However, what the heck did Yukiteru turn into anyway? He couldn’t get over Yuno… for 10000 years? It pretty much sounds like he reverted back to his old self and has been sulking for an eternity.

Still, I enjoyed this episode a lot. This series definitely had its issues, and being spoiled along the way also didn’t help, but it did come together quite nicely.

    Great absurdist trash.

Will post a review of the series, when I find the time.

I will focus on the absurdist nature of the show/manga, and the anima-animus relationship between Yukiteru & Yuno.

  2. Dynellen says:

The anime cut out a little bit of the ending, go check out the last few pages of the manga if you want the whole ending (they only hinted at it with the last few seconds of the anime).

As for the next project announcement I believe it refers to the Mirai Nikki live action drama that they’re doing. Focus on the word ‘drama’ it’s not a direct live action version of the manga.

  3. Thomas says:

I think that Murmur ‘1’ during whole anime always served the new ‘Yuno-god’ from World ‘1’. She even trapped Murmur ‘2’ in that sphere adn took her place in World 2.

  4. Skoopman says:

If you don’t want a real “WTF?!” ending, just go with the anime ending. The manga ending is so weird and cheesy, you might not like it.

  5. F says:

Ending it just before the last few pages saved the anime’s ending from being too pedestrian, but it still felt pretty weak overall.

Wouldn’t recommend the anime, but it had it’s moments.

  6. alt says:

The sad part is that alot of folks who spoil do it because they loved evolving to that point and want everyone else to be there with them. Its directly related to my theory of the weaknesses of our culture. “Why engage in a story or even a lesson if you want to skip directly to the end?”. Thus missing the entire point(s).
Anyway Yuki is now in my book of “shinji ikari infamy”. I look forward to some point in the future where maybe my opinion will change. The book is thick.

Well, i haven’t seen this episode but in the manga he is surprised that his diary also shows him the information of a parallel world diary user (world 2 Yukiteru’s diary, the part that says that Yuno killed 11th outside the vault), so since he know he was defeated in another world he decide to stop the future diary project.

  8. michelle says:

Murmur enjoyed the first world’s survival game so much that she actually plotted with the first world’s winner (Yuno) in order to time leap back into the past and repeat the game.

As for Eleventh’s actions, his diary was able to spy Yuno’s(1st world) and Yukiteru’s(2nd world) (despite being from different worlds) diaries, stating that he would eventually die during the survival game. To ensure that this doesn’t happen, he cancels out the proposed survival game.

    • Koby says:

What I don’t get is how come Eleventh from 2nd world wasn’t able to see his fate from the 1st world via the 1st Yuno and end the game in the 2nd world as well? He never seemed to know about Yuno’s original diary.

  9. RABUJOI says:

Yeah, at the end of the day, Yuno couldn’t stab Yukkii, or vice-versa, so one of them had to stab themselves.

As for wallowing in angst in a void, that’s just God-Yukkii being God-Yukkii. Ten millenia’s a drop in the bucket, especially when he can return to the world at any point in time he wants. Like the Edo period!

  10. anon says:

As far as a sequel goes, we may end up getting an OVA of the two side-mangas. They help shed more light on the story by switching the POV from Yukki to someone else. Paradox (which follows Akise’s POV) and Mosaic (which focuses on Minene’s POV) are the two and they’re only one manga volume.

@Bam, It's Sharin no Kuni, quite literally one of my favourite visual novels of all time and it ain’t no fantasy harem.

@Aidan: That’s a sizeable donation, how are you still not in the top tier also have you played a fanverion sub here? Cuz a fantasy harems can go horribly wrong.

I put down 80 but it more 99 because of the shipping.
Bit worried they are being a bit too greedy. That 140K goal seems a little high.

The Last Fiction looks great, and that’s not me being biased for the subject matter. Defiantly the most expensive, polished and mature animation we’ve ever had. It’s based on a great arc from the Epic of Kings, which is the Persian equivalent of the Oddysee, and it’ll be amazing if done right.

A great French pc game just got released. It’s called 1979 Revolution: Black Friday, and it’s a Telltale style pick-you-story adventure game. It has a lower budget, so the graphics and gameplay are a bit unpolished, but it’s a historically and cultural accurate portrayal of the Iranian revolution, and it’s authentic and entertaining. Y’all should give it a chance when u can.

There are actually Iranian movies I fully enjoy, is just the dark settings hit us harder than people that are further removed from the situation.

@Kaiser: then given my testimonial your school policy made sense lol
We were banned from bringing toys, especially the illegal stuf; we did it anyways. Lots of kids’ tis went off “missing” tho.

So the Sharin no Kuni kickstarter is up. Seeing as they are putting out the 18 version and from there work on leasure of grisaia it looks like translation quality will be good. Bit of a dick move not including the digital version with the physical and instead making it it’s own more expensive tier but not a deal breaker. I put in my contribution, a bit more than what I usually put in.

@Bam: They’d never allow bringing in toys/games/comics back when I was in school, they thought bringing in such things would make the kids of lower income families feel bad for not being able to afford things.

Kiznaiver Review – 60/100

Kiznaiver is a very different faire from Studio Triggers other works in that it takes a more serious tone and has a writer who tends to go more for the melodramatic. This is a tale about a group of very different people gathered together and have their pain linked to one another. In an effort […]

Kiznaiver -12

This was certainly pure narrative confusion at it’s zenith and in that regard I don’t mean that the events depicted were hard to understand but rather a general confusion on what mood it wants to go out on. In this episode we had comedic, drama and climatic showdown all hastily weaved together to try and […]

Bungou Stray Dogs – 12 (end)

And we get to the end of Bungou Stray Dogs, but this last episode doesn’t offer any conclusive ending, instead feel more like a set up episode for the next season. This last episode functions like a typically Bungou Stray Dogs’ episode; there are many good things to say about it, mainly the technical triumphs […]

Joker Game Review – 50/100

Joker Game – 12

Upon finishing yet another rather uneventful episode of Joker Game, I began to wonder just what this series had planned for its finale. “How best to top off a rather mediocre series such as this?” I thought to myself.
